Lori Egdorf, local farmer (pictured below, right) from Caroline, is our newest Friend of RHI – Shawano. Additionally, she and her daughter, Terri (pictured below, left), took some time this morning after their RHI house call to sit down with us to share insights of their life on the farm.  The Egdorfs are one of the local families that will be showcased by RHI this summer. Thank you, ladies!

What does “Friend of RHI” mean?

RHI-Friend Logo

The “Friend of  RHI (Rural Health Initiative)” is a 2015 networking campaign aimed at increasing awareness of the Rural Health Initiative (RHI) by making 1,000 individual FRIENDS within each of the Rural Health Initiative’s four service areas of Shawano, Outagamie, Waupaca, and Marathon counties in Northeast Wisconsin.

When you become a “Friend of  RHI”, you:

  • Show your support of RHI, a local 501(c)3, community-supported, program that brings preventive health services directly to local farms, agribusinesses, and agriculturists, in efforts to improve and sustain their overall health and safety. It’s a concept we call “Kitchen Wellness”, which includes complimentary preventive health screenings with immediate test results (blood pressure, glucose, triglycerides, and more), health coaching, and referral information.
  • Stay current with RHI News & Updates. You will automatically be added as a recipient of our e-newsletter full of current updates and news from the RHI staff. No worries; your email address is confidential with us. We will NOT share it with any other organization or clutter up your inbox.

Anyone can be our FRIEND! To sign up: 1) Go to Rural Health Initiative website (www.wiruralhealth.org) and click on RHI Store; or 2) Sign up in person with any RHI staff member.

Check out pictures of current FRIENDS on the RHI Facebook page. Thank you for your support as we continue to serve as A Bridge to Improve and Sustain the Health and Safety of Farm Families in Northeast Wisconsin.
